GETTING HERE
Air
Daily flights operate between Brisbane and Toowoomba. Twice weekly flights to
St. George, Cunnamulla and Thargomindah are available. Charters can also be arranged.
Coach
McCafferty¹s and Greyhound Pioneer Coaches run regular services into Toowoomba 7 days a week. Scheduled and
charter coaches also access the Golden West region daily.
Rail
Passenger services from Brisbane to Toowoomba and into the Golden West operate twice weekly.
Self - Drive
A number of major highways access the Toowoomba and Golden West region. The area is best seen by travelling in
your own vehicle or hiring a car.
Public Transport
Regular bus services operate daily around Toowoomba city.
SHOPPING
Shops are generally open until 5:30pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday. In Toowoomba city, supermarkets are open
until 9:00pm during the week and until 4:00pm on Saturday. Late night shopping until 9:00pm on Thursday applies
in all major shopping centres. Also, various markets operate throughout the region on weekends.
BANKING
Banking facilities can be found in most centres throughout the region. Major banks are open from 9:30am to 4:00pm Monday
to Thursday and 9:30am to 5:00pm on Fridays. Some banks and building societies are open for slightly longer hours and on
Saturday mornings. In Toowoomba city most banks have electronic banking facilities available 24 hours a day. These facilities
are limited throughout regional centres.
POST OFFICES
Post Offices are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
