Brisbane Attractions - Keep on Coming...
In addition to its major galleries and museums Brisbane has a host of attractions. For a taste of Australiana Australia's native fauna is a feature of wildlife parks at several locations around Brisbane and the region. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary at Fig Tree Pocket is the world's largest koala sanctuary.
The
riverside garden setting is also home to a large community of
kangaroos, wallabies, emus, wombats and native birds. A great spot to
visit very close the Brisbane city.

Koalas
and kangaroos are also a feature at the Australian Woolshed pictured
above and Alma Park Zoo in Brisbane's northern suburbs.
Back down on the ground, Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith's historic first crossing of the Pacific is celebrated at Brisbane Airport with a special memorial hangar that houses his famous plane, "Southern Cross", close to where it made its historic landing in 1928.
From
planes to ships and the Maritime Museum on South Bank Precinct has
an exceptional collection of vessels from detailed models right up to
the
WW11 frigate, the old HMAS Diamantina.
